Work with us as a volunteer

Volunteer

Volunteers play a really important part in the success of the Bridges organisation. If you like the sound of what we do at The Building Bridges Project, and feel you would like to get involved, we always welcome those who generously offer their time to help others.

As you can see from this website there is always lots going on and volunteers can contribute as much or as little as they like. We have regular groups and activities all over the county, if you feel like getting involved in a youth club, swimming group, or a drama session every week then you can. If you would just like to come along when you have spare time and get involved that is fine too. Have you got a skill, talent or interest you want to share? If so, please get in touch. We are happy to meet up with you and chat more find out what you would like to get from volunteering and see how we can help you.

If you could give a few hours of your time to a great cause please email Beccy Williams.

Volunteering? It’s a great way of meeting new people and learning new skills through doing something worthwhile. Volunteering can also help build confidence and gain access to training or employment.

This is how one of our volunteers remembers his time with us...

'I volunteered with The Building Bridges Project for nine months at a time when I was out of work with depression. It was immensely rewarding, I climbed hills, played games, went canoeing and camping. Working with the young people gave me a different perspective on the world, how I interact with people, and has made me much more aware and supportive of varying needs. It put a real spark back into my life and I only left because I started full-time work again. I would recommend it to anyone.'
